Gaelic Games A Diversion for Fordham
The Fordham University Men's Rugby team took a big step into Irish sporting culture yesterday with a visit to Croke Park, the site of Ireland's Gaelic sporting championships.
Hurling and Gaelic Football are uniquely Irish games and hugely important to the history of the country. The players toured the stories stadium, and then also tries their hands at Hhurling, gaelic Football, and also Gaelic Handball.
"We had a great time at both Coke Park and Experience Gaelic Games," said Fordham's Jared Smallwood.
After that, the Rams had another intense coaching session as they prepare for a key spring that includes looking to book a place in the D1A 7s championships. They are getting a lot of help from Irish Rugby Tours, who have scheduled three challenging games, coaching sessions with top rugby minds, and some fun experiences like the Gaelic Games day.
