Fordham Caps Off Successful Tour Of Ireland
Fordham University men’s rugby capped off their three-match tour of Ireland with a 31-7 loss to Highfield Rugby Club, finishing off the tip 2-1.
The trip was punctuated with cultural side trips such as visits to the Cliff of Moher and Blarney Castle in Cork. The team also enjoyed a training session with Cork Constitution Rugby Club before finishing off the tour with the game against a very strong Highfield club.
Fordham threatened the Highfield tryline several times but was only able to convert once, putting senior Jack Palillo over for the lone try.
Highfield’s staunch defense proved a good test for the Rams in the final game. The Rams beat Athy and Galwegians in their two previous tour matches, both games were close.
“Overall it was a great experience,” said Fordham’s Jared Smallwood. “And we really appreciate the work done by Irish Rugby Tours.”
Irish Rugby Tours runs tours all over the world, helping rugby teams find meaningful cultural and fun experiences as well as finding exactly the right level of competition for the teams making the trip.
