The University of Minnesota-Duluth won the Fool's Fest Men's DII college bracket at Winona State in Minnesota.
The win qualifies the Fighting Penguins for a spot in the USA Rugby's DII 7s championships. UW-Eau Claire finished 2nd, and Winona 3rd.
Full order of finish:
1. Duluth 2. Eau Claire 3. Winona 4. Platteville 5. Stout 6. St. Thomas 7. UNI 8. Mankato.
Duluth was led by Trace Bolstad and Matt Martin, while Randy Tanaka continues to improve and was an excellent finisher for Duluth on the weekend.
Tim Stefczak was outstanding in doing the unheralded work in the breakdowns and on defense, while Nemuel Sereti has broken into the starting lineup with much-improved play.
