At GRR we're a little late with all the scores, but here are most of them.
Tri-State teams are still woefully slow in reporting scores and we think they should start using the USA Rugby CMS ... it works! Please go it next year.
Upstate NY had the week off.
Big news then? IUPUI beat D1AA team Middle Tennessee State University. Now, MTSU isn't having its best year, but still, it's a good result. Hooker Jeric Winnet was very good and stole a couple of scrum put-ins. Freshman Brandon Boals has been very good at flyhalf and another freshman, fullback Tyrone Thorton was strong on the day.
The much-anticipated Winona State vs Minnesota Duluth game was called off due to weather. But North Michigan vs Whitewater happened - Whitewater won big - and Marquette vs Illinois State happened - 15-5 for Marquette.
Those two winners lead their divisions in the Great MW.
North Carolina, East Carolina, Furman, and UNC Charlotte lead in the South. Vermont is top dog in the NEWCRC. UVM has been dominant, not allowing a point in four league wins. Playing against the win in the second half against SoConn, Vermont somehow played bettwe, and rolled in 31 points (as opposed to 19 in the first half). The team is just superbly fit and very, very disciplined on defense.
Montana State continues to run away with it in the Rocky Mountain, while Virginia and NC State - two former D1 programs - lead in the Cardinals.
Norwich is still undefeated in Rugby Northeast, while Tulane appears to be the team to beat in the Deep South.
St. Louis University leads the Gateway after a solid win over Principia on Friday. UMS&T is close behind.
