CRAA Championship Weekend Games and Schedule Set
CRAA Championship Weekend Games and Schedule Set
The College Rugby Association of America Fall Classic games and schedule have been confirmed.
The event will be held Saturday, Dec. 4 at Mathews Sportsplex in Mathews, NC just outside Charlotte. While the CRAA had been looking to to run a series of bowl games, in the end there's just the one challenge match. While there were some Big 10 teams looking to play, a Big 10-SCRC clash didn't come off. However, the Bowl Game that is scheduled, Ohio State vs Air Force, is the type of crossover game we don't normally see—a service academy from the West and the Big 10 champion. It is also the first CRAA Bowl Game ever, and the idea will likely gain momentum as time goes on.
There are also four championship matches, with the top men's D2 teams outside of NCR facing off; the finalists from the women's ACRA playoff, the Men's DIAA championship (Is this technically a championship? See why we say it is>>), and the women's DI fall final.
The games will all be live-streamed—here's the link.
Here's the schedule:
Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Mathews Sportsplex:
10AM D2 Men's Championship - Montana State vs. Auburn—Montana State won the Rocky Mountain Conference and Auburn won the SCRC
12PM D1AA Men's Championship - Bowling Green v. Tennessee—Bowling Green won the MAC and is ranked #5 by GRR, while Tennessee won the SCRC and is ranked #1.
2PM ACRA D2 Women's Fall Championship - Vassar v. Temple—Vassar and Temple won their quarterfinals and semifinals over the weekend of November 20-21.
4PM CRAA D1A Bowl - Ohio State v. Air Force—This is a challenge match between the Big 10 Champion and the always-up-for-a-game Zoomies.
6PM CRAA D1 Women's Fall Championship - Navy v. Davenport—Both teams won their quarterfinals and semifinals over the weekend of November 20-21.
