Clemson Wins ACRL
Clemson clinched the ACRL Saturday with a 53-12 defeat of Virginia Tech to finish the ACRL conference season 6-0.
With the Virginia Tech loss, NC State has clinched 2nd in the conference.
Clemson was led by scrumhalf Ryan Gilroy, who was impressive in keeping the pace of the game high and marshaling the defense.
With 70% of the ball and 80% of the territory, Clemson had the run of play, and that allowed the Tigers to hold off the athletic Virginia Tech squad.
No. 8 Jason Damm led the forwards and seemed to always be going forward, whether carrying the ball or making tackles. He scored two tries and six other players each scored one.
Now Clemson looks ahead to facing AIC in the ACRC Bowl Series.
