Christian Brothers Win New Jersey 7s

Jordan Young keeps running for CBA.

Christian Brothers Academt won both the U19 and U16 New Jersey Boys HS 7s championships over the weekend in the final tournament held Lincroft. NJ. 

CBA 1 U19 defeated the Union Mudturtles Blue side 32-12 in their final. CBA U16s 1 took down St. Augustine's U16s 31-21 in their final.

4th: Bergen Catholic
5th: St Augustine 2
6th: Morris
7th: CBA 2
8th: Union Red

Teams from NY,. CT and PA participated throughout the 5 tournaments which increased the competition for everyone. 

The championship was run by Lou Rebimas as Tournament Director, with Game Day Manager Aries Zamora and Coordinator Abby Benoit.

CBA U19s

The Colts beat Bergen Catholic 32-5, Morris 36-0, and St. Augustine 17-14 to get to the final. In the final, Cole Ryan and Fionn Moroney scored two tries, and Jonathan Luehman scored one try. Moroney added two conversions and Leo Viagnola.

The Colts' solid defensive showing led to turnover tries throughout the day. Prop Keegan O'Conner,  Dylan Ramsey, and  Austin Schibell were impressive on defense. Their fitness and exceptional teamwork allowed them to push through some early injuries. They finished with only nine players able to suit up for the final two games, but they battled on.

Wing Cole Ryan finished the five-week season with a team-high 21 tries, while Moroney at halfback led the team in scoring with 183 points.  

Meanwhile, Jordan Young was a key performer as well.

“Jordon Young had a fantastic day winning many kickoffs, scoring four tries, strong tackles, and counter rucks," said Head Coach Pat Moroney.
