Can't Play? Maryland Exiles Team Up For Community Work
Just because you can't play rugby doesn't mean you can't do something as a team.
The Maryland Exiles HS players have been gathering donations for a thrift store that serves needy resident. They've been doing it all summer.
The club collected over 2800 lbs of donations, mostly clothing, but also toys, small household goods, glassware, books, and other items. They delivered their first load of items yesterday and will deliver another next weekend.
"It was great to get the kids doing something nice for our community," said Coach Dan Soso. "Just trying to keep the boys busy doing positive things. I am sure that there are other teams doing the same thing all over the country."
The group even secured a donation to their tour fund based on the donations they had secured.
