With our first major inter-regional game we get some more major movement.
With Cathedral Catholic (SoCal) beating #2 Jesuit Sacramento (NorCal), and Cathedral lost a close one to Torrey Pines, so we move both Cathedral and Torrey Pines up.
But remember, there will be some more SoCal-vs-NorCal games to help us out.
For all of you Northeast and Midwest teams that got bumped down because of the Californians, relax; there will be plenty of games for you to add to your record. Game play changes the rankings. Right now, these teams in California, Texas, Carolinas, and Louisiana are playing. Some will play long-term, but the single-school teams in Southern California and the Carolinas will stop relatively early in the spring. Things will change for them after that.
We do drop four teams out of the Top 50 and again those are the lowest-ranked idle teams. Meanwhile, St. Ignatius SF, Lake Travis, Brophy Prep, and St. Thomas, Houston all move in. These are all ranked based on one or maybe two results. So it's all a little bit of a house of cards as teams build on what they're able to accomplish.

Strake Jesuit showed they have reloaded well enough and we'll have them ranked close to Dallas Jesuit until we have a reason not to. Loyola of LA moves up 19 spots (!) after beating Los Al. But that's just one result (combined with their one-point loss to Torrey Pines) so the playoffs will be the big test.
