Boys HS Club Rugby Rankings Week 5
First a note about KC Jr. Blues.
The Junior Blues showed very well in beating Bixby in their opener. However, we're only going to hudge them up one spot for the moment because, as this was a warmup game for players in that region, KC took a couple of Liberty North players with them to round out their numbers (some Jr. Blues were still finishing other sports seasons). We are pretty sure the Jr. Blues are good, and quite possibly a Top 15 teams, but can't make that kind of rankings change based on one game in which they also used other players.
Fort Hunt's defeat of a very good Gregory the Great team bumps them up into the Top 10. Boca is emerging as perhaps the top club team in Florida. San Mateo's somewhat surprising defeat of East Palo Alto has us moving them into the Top 50. We'll keep an eye on that one—consistency is crucial but so is a recognition that an off day in Northern California can bite you pretty quickly. EPA might well be, overall, better than #40 and San Mateo will need to keep logging results to move up, or stay, in the rankings.
Germantown at #50? Well, the thing is, they're going to be playing quite soon and we kind of think they will move up. We're waiting on a lot of those teams to get active, which basically happens in March.
