Beloved Referee Dies After Match
Longtime and very well-liked Northern California referee Scott Wood died Saturday after refereeing a game.
Wood was driving home from a high school match that he had refereed. He was stopped at a stop light when he suffered a heart attack and died. Wood was active in the Northern California Referees Society and was a referee educator as well as a well-respected official on the field.
He leaves behind his wife Danielle and a seven-year-old daughter.
