Tara Flanagan's poise and good nature off the field, something that has stood her in good stead during an impressive career as a lawyer and a judge, belies her aggression and power on the field.
As a lock forward for the USA she was a huge part of the 1991 World Cup winners, earning a tournament MVP nod and the 1994 World Cup runners up.
Flanagan played overseas at Wasps back when that wasn't really a thing to do, and continues to blaze a trail in the game and out.
But as we said, this is about judging the player on the field. Flanagan was a tower of strength for one of the best women's rugby teams in the entire world, if not the best, and part of along history of excellent lock forwards in the American women's game.
