GRR: Lindenwood Women
The battle of the two major national champions ended up in Lindenwood's favor Saturday but it was certainly a close-run thing.
In a game that carried all the drama that it deserved, Lindenwood University emerged 16-15 victors over Life in the 2022 Women's D1 Elite final.
Held during the CRAA Fall Classic at the Matthews Sportsplex near Charlotte, NC, the final once again produced Lindenwood as the champions, but it was a close-run thing.
The seeding for this fall's D1 Elite will be based on the regular season and we have a better idea of where everything will shake out.
Not every one of the four teams will play the other three. Penn State doesn't play Lindenwood but have already played the other two; meanwhile Lindenwood, Life, and Central Washington all do play each other and Lindenwood plays Life twice.
The seedings for the Women's D1 Elite playoffs this fall aren't exactly set, but we have a pretty good idea how they will go.
Longtime Lindenwood University women’s Head Coach Billy Nicholas is no longer the Lions’ coach.
Jason Coomer, LIndenwood's Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics, responded to a request for comment on Friday, confirming the move but declining to comment further.
Trevor Locke, who has been an assistant with Lindenwood for some years, is now Interim Head Coach.
