GRR: Gold Coast
One of the interesting surprises in Men's DIAA college rugby is that there's an impression held by some in the East that most of the season is played in the fall.
That's not exactly the case, given that the Gold Coast, Pacific West, NCRC, and Mountain States all start in the winter, and the Heart of America and Ivy League (playoffs, anyway) finish off in the spring.
The Gold Coast's leading contenders, UC Riverside and Southern California, have been overtaking the conference whereas Cal State Fullerton, Claremont, and Occidental have been falling short.
The USC Men’s Rugby Club traveled south to the home field of Los Angeles Rugby Club for a “home” game against Cal State University Fullerton in week four of Gold Coast Collegiate Conference play, but with expectations high after last week's victory over San Diego, Head Coach Domininic Riebli called his team's defeat of CSUF "pedestrian."
