Two U20s Join Full Eagles Assembly
Two USA U20 players have been brought into camp with the senior men's national team in Florida.
The callup of center Lorenzo Thomas and wing Deion Mikesell fills in some losses the team has had due to injury. Lemoto Filikitonga's Achilles tendon injury is a cruel blow to a player who started so well. He will have some work to do on rehab. Meanwhile, center Mike Garrity is day-to-day with an injury.
"They had good performances [for the U20s]," said USA Head Coach John Mitchell. "We're trying to create a direct pathway from the U20s. I think it's important that the under 20s realize that in many ways they're not far from full international duty if they perform well."
Thomas and Mikesell both play for Lindenwood University. Thomas was a standout for Union in Oklahoma in high school. Mikesell was the MVP of the Iowa HS 7s season.
