Busy Weekend Jump-Starts Busy Spring for Clemson
It's going to be an action-packed spring semester for Clemson Rugby as they look to compete for cups in both 7s and and 15s.
After a 7s tournament warmup last weekend, and a win over South Carolina earlier, the Tigers will be playing both 7s and 15s this weekend.
“With this being our club's first year in the D1A Mid-South, our club and varsity sides' mission is to go out and prove ourselves in 15s against some of the toughest competition in the country,” said Clemson lock Nicholas Storm.
This weekend will be very busy for the Tigers. Clemson will be hosting the ‘Scrum for the Cure’ tournament, fielding three 7s teams of their own and hosting the likes of South Carolina, Furman, Wheeling Jesuit, and Virginia Tech.
“This will be a very important tournament for us to get quality sevens experience as our sevens team gears up for the Las Vegas Invitational,” said Storm. “It is a big goal of our club and sevens team to put in a very strong and successful showing in Las Vegas so this weekend is an important step towards that goal.”
Meanwhile, the Tigers also face Navy, who are coming off a loss to Penn State last week.
