Speculation that Mike Friday would be the new USA Men's 7s team coach have been well and truly scuppered with the announcement that Friday has taken the job of Director of Rugby for London Scottish.

Friday was supposedly on the inside track to take over from Matt Hawkins after it was announced last week that Hawkins was stepping down. But friday has instead taken the job with London Scottish.

Friday said in the London Scottish announcement: "We have seen substantial change in the off season with our recruitment as we have sought to evolve a highly ambitious squad which possess ability, strength of character and a work ethic to compete at the top of the Greene King IPA Championship.
