BLAINE SCULLY
In two games they desperately needed to win, Blaine Scully scored five tries. That's the basics of our selection of Scully as Back of the Year. But it's more than that. Having played plenty of time at fullbck, and now with a pro season under his belt, Scully has emerged as a truly dangerous and exciting player both offensively and defensively.
He can score in traffic and with a tiny bit of space. He is aggressive and very brave. He is learning to work well with Chris Wyles, and when Wyles can't run on at 15, he's perfectly capable of doing that, too.
Scully gets the nod because he is a true scoring threat on a team that needs one. He's wonderful ambassador for the sport. He's a leader. He works hard on defense, and continues to work on his game.
And his game is pretty good right now already.
