USA v Japan David Barpal photo

Two USA tries came with Phil Mack in the sin-bin for stamping. Canada exposed the USA out wide, usually when a forward was in the backline with a center.

Petri fell down on one try, and several players were guilty of falling off tackles. Aggressiveness is great, but discipline has to be there, too. You can’t give up stupid penalties, and you can’t let off. Remember, the Eagles led 17-6 at halftime, but let it become 20-16 before a flurry of late tries. What if in that buildup to the third try, the Eagles had funneled the ball and fallen behind? Would they have kept their composure.

We think they would have - they’ve showed it in more than a few games now. But composure in clutch situations is nice - so is composure so you don’t get to those clutch situations.
