GONZAGA HS
Well they beat everyone, didn't they? They took on virtually every challenge they could possibly take on, put players on the national team, kept winning even when their best player - perhaps the best player in the country - was off with the USA U20s.

Got to love that. Lee Kelly and Peter Baggetta have done a superb job with this program, because in getting to the mountaintop they have had to overcome some excellent programs in the likes of Jesuit, Xavier, and Penn HS.

They looked at is as a challenge. In fact, the entire Gonzaga program embraced the metaphor of climbing the mountain, using the story of Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay conquering Everest in 1953 as a way to track their progress. We wrote about it here.
